Although cultural diversity involves several dimensions, this article, mainly within the framework of the UN documents, seeks to elaborate on the essential importance of respect for cultural diversity and promoting the right to preserve and develop cultures and value systems within the imperatives of the universal values of human rights or the peremptory norms of international law. Furthermore, the author intends to make a structural linkage between the principle of respect for cultural diversity and consolidating peace at the international level. The article concludes that the international organizations such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation should develop strategies and devise mechanisms to promote respect for cultural diversity as effective tools to make a better world. فرهنگ ها و مذاهب بزرگ، با نظامهای گوناگون، اجزاء تشکیل دهنده تمدن انسانی درجهان کنونی هستند. آنها دارای حق ذاتی برای حفظ وتوسعه نظامهای خود در چارچوب یک کلیت مشترک به مثابه تنوع در درون جهانشمولی هستند. اگرچه تنوع فرهنگی دارای ابعاد مختلفی است، لکن این مقاله قصد دارد عمدتا در چارچوب اسناد سازمان ملل متحد، اهمیت اساسی احترام به و ارتقاء حق صیانت از فرهنگها و توسعه آنها و همچنین نظامهای ارزشی در چارچوب بایسته های ارزش جهانشمولی حقوق بشر و یا قواعد تغییرناپذیرحقوق بین الملل را تشریح نماید. بعلاوه، نگارنده بر آن است که ارتباط ساختاری میان اصل احترام به تنوع فرهنگی و تحکیم صلح در سطح بین المللی برقرار سازد. مقاله حاضرنهایتا نتیجه گیری می نماید که سازمان های بین المللی از قبیل ملل متحد، جنبش غیر متعهدها و سازمان همکاری اسلامی می باید راهبردهایی را تدوین و مکانیزمهایی را جهت ارتقاء احترام به تنوع فرهنگی به عنوان ابزارهای تاثیر گذار برای ساختن جهانی بهترایجاد نمایند. http://www.iruns.ir/article_121927_1e0e99c6d40f4e93b76f55d7a3749690.pdf
