Climate change is one of the most critical challenges that threaten human security and the realization of human rights. It adversely and severely affects the present and future generations' children. As the leading international instrument to protect children's rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child has recognized environmental rights as the main precondition for realizing other human rights. This paper reviews the impacts of climate change on children's rights, specifically their right to a healthy environment. For this purpose, it addresses the issue of climate change and how it would influence human and children's rights. It considers some of the most pressing issues facing children in a changing climate. Further, it studies relevant international and regional documents on climate change and human rights to determine the interrelation between human rights and environmental protection. It explores how environmental issues may violate various human rights, especially children's rights. Furthermore, finally, it inquires about how to empower children regarding their environmental rights.
